The Head SARAS participated in a panel discussion at the international conference - Financial Trust Ecosystem 2026
The international conference, Financial Trust Ecosystem 2026, took place in the conference hall of the Georgian National University (SEU). The event was organized by the Accountants Union and co-organized by the National Bank of Georgia. The event aimed to improve the quality of financial reporting, promote technological transformation, uphold professional ethics, and strengthen institutional dialogue.
At the official opening of the conference, welcome speeches were delivered by Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia; Ziyad Samedzade, President of the Azerbaijan Union of Economists; and Bezhan Tsakadze, Deputy Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.
In her speech, Natia Turnava emphasized the importance of financial trust, high-quality reporting, and institutional cooperation. She highlighted the specific role of the Service for Accounting, Reporting, and Auditing Supervision (SARAS) in developing the financial reporting system as SARAS represents one of the primary institutional pillars for financial transparency, accountability, and protection of professional standards in the country. She also noted that cooperation between the National Bank of Georgia and SARAS is vital for reinforcing the ecosystem of financial stability and reliability.
A panel discussion on Financial Strategy, Institutional Trust, and Regulation was held as part of the conference.
The Head of SARAS, Davit Mchedlidze, participated in the panel discussion. In his address, he focused on mechanisms for ensuring the quality of financial reporting, supervisory practices, and the role of regulation in forming institutional trust. He also noted that effective supervision, compliance with international standards, and the development of digital processes are essential for a sustainable financial ecosystem. Additionally, emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening the reporting culture and the role of professional community involvement.
