Georgia has declared 10 November as Accountants' Day!
In an organization, the aim and purpose of an accountant is to organize information that is vital for the success of a business, so the role of the accountant is key to the proper functioning of a company. On the joint initiative of the Service (SARAS), as the supervising agency, and the professionals in the field, the 10th of November was established in Georgia as the professional day of accountants, similar to the members of the European Union and the United States of America.
The establishment of Accountants' Day will be an important step for those involved in the profession and will also clearly demonstrate the importance of accountants and certified accountants (including auditors) to the public. It will also encourage the promotion of the profession, the strengthening of links between those involved in the profession and the development of the profession.
It should be noted that, according to our data, the rate of submission of reports in recent years has reached record levels, namely in 2022 - 78,370 companies submitted the 2021 report to the Service, and in 2023 - 77,524 companies submitted the 2022 report. The process of preparing each report is the result of tireless work of accountants and their cooperation with the Service. It is important to recognize and value the contribution of accountants (including certified accountants) as one of the most important professions for the development of the country. This is achieved by declaring the Professional Day as a first step.
The Professional Day will lead to the organization of different types of events or meetings where accountants will have the opportunity to share professional knowledge and experience, to make contacts and to get closer to each other in order to deepen mutual cooperation.
